Week 28

Lots of people here have altars to their saints. so I thought I would make one to my heroes.

Week 27

Well I honestly can't believe that i am still kicking to honest. This week was probably the longest I have ever experienced. I worked hard, my companion worked hard, and then we feel asleep really fast haha. Yeah it was a good week even though it was pretty crazy. We had 48 lessons, 4 new investigators, 6 people attended church, placed 2 dates for baptism, and we walked a lotttt. haha yea I can't even remember that much about this week to be honest. Anyway i think one of the cool things that happened this week was the chance we had to eat with a less active family. They invites us over for breakfast and we ate a bunch of pancakes that were absolutely awesome! i honestly miss pancakes at times hahaha. then we also had divisions with our bishop and a member from the ward and it went pretty well to be honest. Even though my companion complained afterward that the member did some stupid stuff during the lesson...i kinda knew that was going to happen though. :P Other than that it was really a normal week that was simply full of hard work and returning home at 9:00 every night. So yea good week and i hope for many more like it!
Love you all and sorry that i don't have that much to talk about this week. hahaha hopefully next week.

Week 26

Well this week has been a very fun and exciting week. i have gotten up every day exactly at 6.30 and have tried to do exercise. Thing has resulted in me mostly on the couch doing some kind of arm stretch next to our room heater hahaha. Then during most of our studies i have wonder of mentally wondering what an American Pizza would taste like...hahaha. no but really the week has been really good and i have seen many miracles.  about a week and a half ago we received two families to teach and they have been progressing fabulously. We have taught most of them the first 3 lessons and have even placed a few baptismal dates with them. Overall it was really cool, but like all the other missionaries we were a little worried if there investigators would go to church, after all if they don't go we can't baptize them. So we invited or reminded them every 3 days or so to go. Then Sunday morning we literally ran house to house to get these people in a taxi and head to the chapel. The end result was freaking amazing. For the first time in my mission I had 11 investigators in the church. in short it was another Sunday miracle and Of course, being the over enthusiastic missionaries that we are, we have made a goal to get 20 investigators to church by the 14th. hahaha yeah crazy but i bet we can do it...if we work and pray really hard hahaha.
Aside from this our week was normal. We found people, we taught them, and we are hoping as usual that they can come. We will just have to see. however, I have a lot of faith that we will have some baptisms here in the next few weeks and I am really excited to see how many.
Oh something petty funny that me and my companion talked about is what would have happened if Jesus was black. My companion commented that we would be eat brownies and fruit punch for the sacrament hahaha freaking caute!
Anyway i love you all and I hope that you have a great week.

Week 25

hey guys guess what i will have six months here in 11 days! that's sooooooo weird. I still can't speak Spanish if you are wondering and the work here is as usual a little on the hard side. I have also been training for the past week and as usual this is a little weird as well. My companion is pretty cool he is just a little nervous about things that are a little stupid. Yet he is a good guy and I think he will be a great missionary... if he learns to chill a little. hahaha no but really things here are good as usual. I haven't been super sick in a little while and the work has been going well. In fact I actually hope for a few baptism in the near future. However we will have to see about those I just have a lot of Hope haha.
Also I saw a small miracle this Sunday that made me cry (freaking panzi). We had been working really hard this week passing for less actives and our investigators, but we had just received a call that one of our most progressed investigators wouldn't be able to go to church. in short I was pretty upset. We had one other that we could pass for but this investigator hadn't attended church in a year and a half and we were about to drop here like a rock. Then when we passed her family told us we had to wait. I personally thought she wasn't going to come out...but after 15 minutes of waiting she came. For the first time in a year and a half this investigator went to church and she liked it! plus to boot our chapel was almost full this week of all the less actives that we had passed for. So when the sacrament was passed I kinda cried a little to be honest. After all this ward hasn't seen more than 65 people attending since i arrived... and this Sunday they had more than 100. So yea I was a little happy.
So if any of you are wondering yes I am a little bit of a panzi but hey it was a coll event and it made me happy so you guys can't say anything. Anyway, I am still in the same area and I am hoping that I can see something happen here in the near future. A baptism another small miracle I don't know all I know is that i will work really hard to get one if I can. Yep, that's about all I have to say. I hope all of you are doing well that you are eating pizza every day like I want to and that things in general are going well. anyway I have to go peace out fam love you all tons.

Week 24

Hey mom,

So the interesting part of this week have been the fact that i am still in my area...but I am now training! It was pretty crazy to get the call that told me that I would be training a new elder.  My new companion arrived yesterday and he is pretty awesome to be honest. His name is Elder Gomez. He is from Michoacan which is a state about 6 hours west from here. He is pretty excited to preach and work so i am hoping for a  lot of success with him. Plus his actual mission is New York North..,.so he can speak English pretty well. I hope this will help me learn Spanish better..but we will see haha. overall its pretty dang exciting. I just hope that I can be a good trainer and that we can have more success than i have had recently.
Funny story: when my companion arrived yesterday we told him that we were going to pass for the house of investigators that supposedly had a lot of problems. However, in reality we past for the house of a member and his family. They played along with us and my new companion look freak out hahaha. It was pretty funny in truth and while some people might have felt bad I didn't because he will experience more interesting things here soon so.... yea haha.
Also this week we will have a world wide missionary conference which will be pretty exciting. I bet we will learn about how we can become more effective and active in our area...but who know. Anyway I love you all and I promise to write more next week its just been a little crazy here recently and we don't have a lot of time for anyway thing hahaha peace out!

Week 23

hey everyone! The week here has been both fun and a little bit hard in truth. I have been getting better in Spanish even though I am still just one step above a white person still. Plus I am still always nervous when talking to people... so that doesn´t help me at all haha. However, its okay I know I will get it one day! I just hope that day comes quickly hahahaha.
This week was a little slow to be honest. We had divisions and I went with one of my zone leaders for the day. It was pretty cool. We talked to a bunch of people and ended the day completely exhausted. The funny part about the day was the fact that both of us were these tall white guys and everyone tried to speak English to us haha. Some times Mexicans came be so weird. Anyway that was fun and listening to my zone leader speak Spanish with a Utah accent was pretty funny too.
Also this week we past for the house of a member that was celebrating his birthday. We ate dinner with his family and it was delicious. I ate a ton and then one of the family started a small food fight. I joined in of course and laughed the entire time. Luckily for me I didn´t stain my tie haha so all was well. After this we got to push the birthday boys face into a tiny cake... i actually really like that tradition and think we should institute it back home haha.
Overall this week has been good if slow. Anyway I hope that each of you have been doing well and I can´t wait to talk to you next week. Peace out fam!

Week 21-2ish?

Hey guys the week has been good here and even crazier tomorrow I will finish 5 months in the field. in two weeks I will probably get my first transfer and begin training some squirt from Chihuahua. However, who knows right? I don`t. At any rate all is well here in the great country of Mexico. I do wish however, that you guys could have been here for the new year. To say that it was crazy would be putting it lightly. Every the people were setting off fire works and partying. SO consequently we had to be in our apartment by 9:00 without exception. Hahaha that was okay though because we could see all the fireworks from the top of our house. The whole city during this time sounded like a battlefield and looked a little like one in truth. Anyway that was pretty cool to watch and it was good to have the chance to talk and be with the family next door to us.
A really cool experience that we had this week was the chance that we had to pass for a less active family. They hadn't past for the church for 8 months because they had lost there father/husband/grandfather. In short this family was experiencing a lot of pain in their lives especially his wife who is now a widow. This was my first time passing for this house and family but this time something had change because of a lesson we had given the week before. They had attended the church and told us that they could feel the pain of the death starting to be taken from their lives. They then said it was because of our actions as missionaries that they had felt this change in them. They said without us they wouldn't have gone back to church. In that moment I gave thanks in my heart to my savior for his effort on behalf of this family and my ability to serve them.
Aside from that experience we did another round of candy runs. We visited the houses of less actives and members to wish them a happy new year to to impress upon them the importance of Christ in our lives. So in short the week was in general the same as those of before. It past by quickly and was meet with some success. Will we are still having trouble with our investigators and ward I have high hopes for the future of the work here in this area. For I know, and understand that through Christ all is possible if we but act upon that faith that is inside us.
So I hope that all of you are having a great new year and are trying a little harder to put a little more room in your life for christ. After all I am and kinda have to hahaha. I love you all and hope that all goes well for you this week.
