Week 9

Well this week wasn´t nearly as strange as the past couple. We did have a number of people come up to us and ask for visits. I thought that was pretty cool especially because I don´t think it would happen in the states too much. Right now we don´t have a ton of investigators and haven´t yet had a baptism. Every time we try to contact or get in touch with our references they are often “not home”. Also, our church starts at 8. This means about half of the regular members don´t show up. It’s a ton of fun trying to get them to come. Luckily that’s not really our job. We just talk about it when they have us come over to eat haha.
Aside from all that we have a really good family lined up for our lessons. We contacted this family the first week I came here and so far they have come to church and watch almost all the general conference sessions with us. This is particularly amazing since they had to come all the way to the stake center to watch general conference. This particular family a mother and her two sons. They are pretty poor but always are happy to talk to us. I really enjoy the youngest son. He was really shy when I first met him, but after I gave him a couple of my cookies I had in my bag he was more than happy to mess around with me. I really hope that we are able to continue to teach this family and eventually baptize them. They may be poor in the things of this world, but they are great in the in the worth of souls.
Besides conference I had the amazing chance to go on division with my zone leaders. The best part is that these guys are super funny, but also really good at teaching and getting the work done. During, divisions we didn´t have the opportunity to teach much. We mostly set a few dates and went on our way. However, we did go to the house of that one TJ that I told you guys about last week. The funny part was this fantastic man ask two of his fellow TJ to join in on the conversation on whether Jesus was Jehovah of God. Luckily for me I had to go with the other zone leader to an English teaching class before the battle began. I did hear later though that my companion did a rocking job and that the TJ didn´t know how to respond to his questions hahaha. Anyway, I went to teach some investigators English and that was tons of fun since I barely know Spanish and they know jack squat about English. The brother I ended up teaching thought I was a great teacher though and that made me really happy.
Another funny story or two:
We had this one pretty crazy guy come up to us and ask if he could make an appointment with us. We said yes and asked for his number and address. The man proceed to tell us but when we got confused because he was talking in a way that has hard to hear, he took my companions agenda ripped a page out of it and wrote his address for us. He then walked away with my companions pen. haha.
Last story, we had a recent convert come to our house a few days ago and we started playing hand ball in our apartment. The kid was a complete tramposo but fun to play with. He won every time, so in the end I tossed him on our couch and sat on him. freaking tramposo. haha
Anyway I am glad that you are all doing well and are having a great time. I am glad that you all enjoyed conference. I unfortunately only understood maybe half of what they were saying, but that half 😎. entonces, I love you all and will talk more to you next week.
p.s mom. I kinda canceled my facebook account before taking off all the email that I had for people I wanted my emails to be sent too. i don´t know if you can re-activate it, but if you could try that would be great! haha Tell Dad that the language is slowly starting to come. I can understand basic conversations and all the lessons we teach but other everyday questions are still hard for me. At any rate tell dad that I love him and promise to write a letter directly to him next week. Also,  I have pictures for you this week!
