Week 2

Hey Mom,
Week two has been pretty good. The language studying has escalated and the work too. The only real free time we have is in the morning when we have only an hour to exercise. The rest of the day is spent in one classroom working constantly on the language, and investigator practices. The funny thing is, we got our first “investigator” the 3rd or 4th day after arriving. That was one of the scariest things I have ever done. Neither me or my companion new Spanish, and we were required to teach this fluent speaker the first lesson. Luckily for us he was a member and a nice guy and he became our second teacher a few days ago. He still plays the part of an investigator for class practice but most of the time he is helping us learn the Language (his name is brother Juarez).
Aside from that the MTC has been great. The food could be better, but I know its a lot better then what I will be facing out in the field. Plus, I have only had diarrhea one other day since I arrived, so I take that as a good sign so far. Oh, and if anyone was wondering the CCM (MTC) here was once a school. It was closed down around 2 or 3 years ago when they turned it into the CCM. That’s mostly why it’s so big. It currently holds around 500 missionaries all going to different parts of the world.
To answer your question mom, about the temple, we actually went to the temple open house today. My district and about 12 others got into three buses and drove to the temple grounds. The ride there took about an hour because of the crazy traffic in Mexico city but it was worth the wait. The funny thing is we were supposed to sing the entire way to the temple but after the 3rd song I was out. I didn´t wake up until we got there. ( This small incident I personally blame on my roommates for staying up until 11:00) Anyway, the temple was really nice. It wasn´t to big, not in land size or square feet, but it was still amazing. Unlike other temples the Mexico City temple has 3 floors that you have to go up by means of elevators to get to its different rooms. It is mostly because you could walk across it in less then 5 minutes. After walking through the open house we all exited and went back to our buses. On the way over I pointed out to my fellow district members our future mission president who was in the temple parking lot talking to his zone leaders. We said hello but had to leave quickly to make sure that we got on our bus. There I promptly fell asleep again.
On my birthday I kept on telling my district not to sing happy birthday to me. Unfortunately that wasn´t the case. I had to endure that horrible song twice in one day. On the bright side my teachers here threw balloons around when they did it and gave me a small bag of goodies to boot. That part was pretty sweet. I also got another gift from some of my roommates. They bought me a small bottle of body spray that was the essence of “Black”. Super funny since I now smell better than any one around. haha.
It was really awesome to see the picture of Jocelyn. She looks super adorable and healthy. It’s cool too that she was born only a day after my birthday! She and I are going to be great friends because of that. I am also happy to hear that Alana is doing well. I hope she gets better fast and gets out of the hospital. (never liked that place).
Other than That I am happy to see Kristen walk. I bet that was super awesome for her. I hope I will be there some day to. I love all you guys so much! Can´t wait to hear from you all next week.
