Week 4

Hey mom,
And it came to pass that I Elder black finished the 4th week of the MTC and there was exceeding confusion upon the people as the days seemed to blend together. haha. That basically summed up this week. I can barely remember what I did or what happened. I wake up and I go to class. Kinda boring really. However, I have seen some changes in my language. I am better than many in my district and zone at speaking and even better at listening and understanding. I have read and learned most the grammar and there is growing excitement around speaking. I don´t say this through boosting but more though joy in my own progress.
This week I had two really cool experiences. The first was the opportunity to listen to one of the apostles here in the MTC. This past Wednesday, I think it was, all the missionaries in the CCM had the chance to gather and listen to Elder Christophersen. It was a really cool opportunity to sit a few rows back from the pulpit. He brought an awesome spirit to the meeting and we all left feeling more energized. The second experience was the chance to go down to the Migration center and do some visa paper work. There we meet some people from our mission and learned some helpful tips. For example, don´t buy two peso tacos because they are most likely made from dog. Excellent advice if you ask me haha. After talking to them for a little while I saw a street vendor walking around with a basket of churros. I bought six for 20 pesos, basically 1.25. I then proceed to eat half of them and give the other half away. It was only after I finished the third churro that I realized I probably shouldn´t have eaten that many. But hey they were good! Plus the stomach ache went away after a few hours. haha.
The most interesting thing I have developed here in the CCM this far though is the law of foods. First rule. If it looks American do trust it! Let you buddy eat it first and then bless it a few times and then it might be okay. Second, if it jiggles or dances on your plate your next visit to the bathroom will take a while. Third, if it’s fish let it sit. It won’t taste good no matter what you put on it. Fourth, when in question grab a bowl of frosted flakes. After all they are more than good. haha.
Anyway, I hope you are all doing great and I am sorry that email is so short I promise to have some things plannedP1000111
out to say next time. I love you all and hope you are having a great time.
P.S MOM
Hey I am going to send some letters to you for the siblings and if you could send them to each one after you get them that would be great! I love you very much and miss you hugs. Talk to you soon.
Elder Darren Black.
Haven´t had time to take many pictures and I will send some better ones next time.
