This week was pretty awesome! I had the opportunity to go to a couple museums and work with our zone leader. He is a really cool guy and is very hard worker. Every time he works with us our numbers increase a lot. Also, he is a funny guy so, the day goes by a lot faster. I also had the chance to baptize two people this week. It was a very special experience for me because its the first time I have ever baptized a person and it was in Spanish so, it was a very interesting experience. Luckily their names weren’t very hard to say so it went well.
As I don’t have much more time to write I just want to share one experience. This week close to the time we needed to return to our house, my companion got a call from a recently returned missionary that was having a hard time. Up to this point he was doing great. He had a girlfriend and knew what he wanted to do with his life. Then we came to his house and learned that his girlfriend had broken up with him after he had proposed and that his family was going through a hard time. He told us that he didn’t know what to do. He said he was thinking of leaving the church and trying to find a new path for his life. My companion proceed to talk and give some great scriptures but even after this I could feel that he wasn’t doing well. It was written in his face. So, we offered to give him a priesthood blessing of comfort. As we placed a chair for him to sit my companion ask me if I would give the blessing. I responded that I hadn’t ever given a blessing of comfort in English let alone in Spanish. He just looked at me and kept asking if I wanted to give the blessing. I finally said yes. I remember as I placed my hands on the returned missionaries head all the fear that was going through my mind. I had so much that could not remember the words to start the blessing and my companion had to help me. However, when I began the real part of the blessing, a single clear thought came to my mind. What would Christ tell you if you where in this same spot, indeed what has he told you. Then the words came. Truthfully, I can’t remember what I said. All I can remember is that after the blessing was done something changed in the returned missionary. He got up and hug me and I saw the change in his face. I knew in that moment he wasn’t going to leave the church, that his work was just beginning. Then we went and got tacos. So the moral of the story is tacos are awesome especially after a blessing Love you all. I know the lord is looking out for all of you and for me. Have a great week talk to you soon.
